Need Some Input!

Greetings!
I need some input from you all.  My DH is considering getting me some sort of stitching stand after Christmas and I don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't worth the money.  Do any of you actually use scroll frames?  Which kinds?  Do you like them?  Do you just buy more scroll frames in case you want to switch out the project you are working on?  Or does everyone prefer Q-Snaps?

What about stands?  Floor, table, lap?  What makes them good or bad?  Which ones flip easiest to work on the back.  Which ones are best that are affordable?  And where do I get them????

Thanks loads!!

I have been very happy with my System 4 floorstand. But I use primarily stretcher bars, not scroll bars. So I don't know if I'm much help. :(

I love my q-snaps. I keep thinking I should pick up a couple more. I have a 6inch and a 12inch one. I would like the 8inch one also. I really haven't used anything other then them and the old hoops. So good luck on your hunt.

I can't help you there asI don't use any stands at all, but I do think thats a great present as I have often thought that it might be a good idea.

Merry Christmas to you and yours - Hugs Su

HI Tricia ooo lots of questions ..lol right I use an Opus stand with scroll frames all sizes the ones that the fabric click into not sewn on (although I do have those too ) so when I want the back I flip over... I also have one that attaches to the stand and flips over too but I'm not sure that can be bought any more I have a bad back amongst other things and I find the floor stands that can fit under your seat are the best as you can get comfy and sit correctly .... some folks I know love the lowry stand this I think you can flip over too... not sure where you can buy these things over the pond or the price either ... but good luck and what a lovely present :)hope this helps a bit love mouse xxxx

Hi Tricia! Thanks so much for the nice note on my blog post..

I use scroll rods (from K's Creations) and just love them. I find they make it so much less stressful on my hands and there is a lot less hand movement with them than with Q snaps. With the scroll rods, your dominant hand stays on the bottom so there's little hand movement. I love them!

Merry Christmas!

Well now....i do use q snaps but also scroll. I have a few of the scroll so I do not always have to remove my projects if I have another in the frame. Same for the q snaps I have all the sizes. As for the floor stand, there is one in Nodic Needle catalog that I have on a wish list. It is the Stitch Master for $88.99. I do not know anyone who has one so I would be interested in any feed back before I buy one.

I have bought two different stand up frames with stretcher bars and scroll bars and both of them gave me awful pains in my wrists using them. I like the idea of Q snaps but find them too heavy to hold for too long. I'm afraid I'm a wooden hoop gal and just won't change :)
