Mid - October Update

It's raining here and I have chocolate chip muffins cooking in the oven, so it seemed like a good time to update my blog.  I think I've decided that cross stitch is one of my comfort foods. :)  No, I don't eat it, but if I'm feeling a little low I love to look through my stash, window shop online, or make grand plans about next year's stitching.  I might actually even stitch a little! :)

Here's my update...

Page Two of HAED Nativity is finished! WooHoo!!!

The toe of the stocking is finished and I've worked on the band.  Little by little!!

Just a quick letter here and there when I need a stitch I don't have to think about too hard. : )

I've been having a needtobuysomething urge lately.  First I saw this...

... which is SO me.  I haven't bought it yet, because I am not sure I should have 2 HAED's going on at once, but I love it and would love to stitch it!

Then I saw this...

...which looks so fun, since I love Christmas stitching.  I didn't buy that either.

Then I saw this Petite Dimensions Gold kit on eBay.

Another sweet Christmas stitch.  I did buy this one.... : )

My Stitch from Stash account is over $100.00, I think, so I might cave in and place a small order just to get it out of my system.  But as soon as I say that, I am paralyzed, because I can't choose what to get.  LOL!!!  Should I start another HAED?  Should I just get fabric and floss and kit up a bunch of charts in my stash?  Should I buy the Christmas kit up there?  Or the two charts from my last post?  Or should I get one of those Vera Bradley Kiss and Makeup bags to stash with all the stitching goodies I always wish I had with me?  Or should I call Shepherd's Bush and see if they would kit up a fob for me with aida, since I'm allergic to linen???

Decisions, decisions!  I'm going to go ponder....

: )

Have a splendiforous day!

Ornaments, my 2012 Challenge, and Updates!

Hello again!  Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?  Or a nice Harrogate show if you're from the UK??  We had a busy weekend with Thanksgiving, then Christmas with part of the family, and then a few days of "clean and repaint the bathroom before company comes".  I can't *wait* to take a shower again! : )

On the stitching front... first some ornaments for our Friendly Stitcher Ornament Exchange...

From Elizabeth to me...  Isn't it beautiful??  It's my first biscornu and the fabric shimmers!

Then from me to Elizabeth - an older L*K pattern...

Here's my finished PS Autumn Leaves Foursome - Jackie, if you read this I need your address to send it back! : )  ...

And finally, my progress on LHN Counting House...

As for my personal 2012 challenge, I worked on it over Thanksgiving and here it is.  I have it under the challenge tab up top, so I can keep track of how I do and remind myself of my "rules". : )

2012 Tricia's Personal Challenge!

1. My main goal is to finish Cabin Fever by the beginning of December 2012.  I have about 100 stitches done.

Time Flies!!

Hello everyone!  Have you been busy too??  I've been stitching a little and doing some Christmas shopping and making a Holiday Planner and going off sugar (I feel so much better - but can you imagine  Thanksgiving and Christmas without sugar?  EEK!  What will I get in my stocking?  Socks??)  Here are some pictures of what I've been up to...

LHN's Counting House.  I'll try to finish this by Christmas.

Prairie Schooler Autumn Leaves Foursome...  Hopefully this will be finished this weekend, if I can get some concentrated stitching time!

An AMAZING Blog gifty that I received from Andrea.  Have you ever SEEN anything so beautifully finished?  Look at those beads!!!!!  swoon..... : )

Here's a Margaret Sherry freebie that I stitched into an ornament for a friend that loves cats...

And another gift from a blog and real-life friend, Angie... Aren't they adorable?  A little notebook cover and pouch!

And finally a gift for my MIL.  I was all set to try a pinkeep... but I chickened out and framed it instead.  I'll get up enough courage one of these days!!

That's it for me right now!  I'm sending off an exchange today.  Can't wait to receive mine back again!  With paying for dd to stay in college, we're cutting back on Christmas presents for each other this year.  I think we'll just do stockings - so getting these few stitchy things here and there from my blog friends and exchanges is going to be my Christmas!! : )

Have a wonderful day!

Days 7 & 8

It's day 8 of the challenge and I'm finally starting to feel better!  What a blessing!  But when I went to write this post I realized that I had been feeling so rotten that I'd numbered my days wrong on the last few posts.  They're fixed now!

Here is my Day 7 start - LHN's Woodland Sampler ( or is it Woodland Sampling?  I don't have it in front of me...)  I was going to do it on linen that I'd bought especially for it, but my head hurt too badly last night to attempt to do anything over two, so I started it on 18 ct Fiddler's cloth and it's adorable.  I can't wait to finish it!

And here's today's start... and finish. :-)  Just pretend that I made the picture look antique-ish and that it isn't really the horrible light that I took it under that made it look sort of yellow.  I'll post a better picture when I actually finish-finish it. :-)

I've had this Shepherd's Bush fob kit for a year and just kept putting it off.  Today was the day, though.  I was feeling better, but not good enough to do much, so I spent most of the day stitching and listening to Elizabeth Klett read Emma.  She is a FANTASTIC reader!  I love to listen to the Jane Austen books that she's read for Librivox while I stitch.  It was so fun to finish something - especially cuz I feel like I've lost a week of the challenge while I was sick.  I'm not behind with my starts, I just didn't feel like I'd been accomplishing very much.

So... what shall I start tomorrow?  I hope you'll stop by and see! :-)

Blessings!

The End of Patience

The end of my LHN Patience Thread Pack, that is!  This is the last of my WIP's for this year, so I think I'm going to start an ornament  tomorrow that I'd like to send out around New Year's.  I need something to do until I can start my challenge pieces!!

BTW - the sheep actually can be seen on my finished piece.  His body just looks invisible because of the flash! :-)

Thanks for looking!
