{Stitch from Stash} September Update

Hi everyone!  Are you as excited as I am that it is fall?  I love Autumn!!  I like to stitch and watch/listen to football games.  I like the pretty leaves and the beautiful colors.  And I like that Christmas is almost here!!! :)

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Stitch from Stash month.  This has been so fun for me so far.  I enjoy seeing all the projects we are pulling from our stashes, and I'm enjoying making a dent in my own!  Here's my update this month - and sorry if the pictures aren't that great... The lighting didn't seem to catch them right this morning!

I stitched another column on The Nativity.  I'm at 5% now!!! WooHoo!

I finished the chart I picked up at Cecilia's Sampler this spring... Lizzie Kate's Thankful String.  I stitched it on 16 count sparkly fabric.  LOVE the sparkle, but working with it made my hands itch, so I glad that I was only doing a little piece. :)

Finished a little PS design for a gift...

Finished a Sheep Virtue (I'm not doing the border on this one...).  I'd like to make it into a bag for a Christmas gift.

Finished a sweet ME doggy ornament....

And worked some more on the toe of the Stoney Creek Stocking.

Here's my accounting for the month...

I started with a balance of $98.98 + September's allowance of $25.00 = $123.98

I looked at a couple of charts over and over again, but I didn't buy them, so all I spent was $0.47 on a skein of DMC floss.  So my balance forward is $123.51.

I'm sure I'll get both of them eventually... I just can't decide which one to stitch first.  I love the colors on the first one, and I just love the cute expressions on the reindeers' faces in the second one!

May Goals

Hi everyone!

It seems I need to do an update for April!  Here are my pictures for the month...

I finished LHN Sheep Virtues "Peace".  This one brings to mind Psalm 23...  "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul."  I love the fishies in the water and the garland around his neck!

I worked on Silver Creek Sampler's Eye on the Sparrow for a little while.  Although I must admit with this one I wish I had started on the words "Do Not" instead of on the word "Worry"!!  I'm stitching this one over 1 on 28 count and it's beautiful, but I can only work on it for bits at a time or my shoulder and back and neck bother me.  I've made good progress, though!

And my goals for May?  Finish Eye on Sparrow and stitch LHN Sheep Virtues Courage.  For some reason I'm in a "finish my WIP's" mood.  So I'll run with it while I can!!

Two Finishes and a Start

Hello, hello!

It's been a nice week, stitching wise!  I finished the bookmark while watching Pride and Prejudice with my Mom, and I finished my second sheep virtues chart (LHN) this week, too!  I made a couple of changes to the sheep chart.  One was on purpose, the other not so much! : )  I changed the color of the heart on the sheep to the color of the heart above them and then I forgot to make a red heart at the top in the border, so I just added a little red to the center of the flower.  It's personalized! : )  I wasn't ready to start back on my stocking yet - I needed something on a little bigger count to work on that night, so I pulled out the PS pattern that Stephanie had sent me and started on one of the little charts.  Here's a group picture...

So... my goals until the end of the month? (Not that you'll remember them, but it will help me to have them written down!!)  Hmmmm....

Yesterday, Today, Forever will become my "stitch at Mom's" piece.

One More Ornimentification

Whew!  I realized I didn't have an ornament for my son's stocking, so I whipped up this Prairie Schooler freebie the other day while watching Christmas movies and ornimentified it this morning. : )  All done and ready now, and only one more sleep til Christmas!!  (And I get to watch Muppet Christmas Carol tonight... YAY!!!!)

Another Week

Three squares out of four are done!  Yippee!! I sat down the other day and started gathering all the projects that I want to stitch next year. According to my "how long this will take" list, I have more than enough in my basket to last all year and I really don't need to buy anything except a piece of 25 count Lugana fabric for my Mini Christmas Mailbox chart, some DMC floss and whatever fabric I decide to stitch "Be Joyful" on.  And honestly, I think I could stitch from now through September without even buying any of that.  I really hope that I can finish most of this list next year and keep from buying a lot.   I keep thinking of the story in the Bible where the man built new barns to hold all his extra crops and then died before he could use any of them.    So rather than "stashing" this year, I hope to actually *stitch* a number of the wonderful charts that I've been blessed with!  Saving money would be good, too, as expenses seem to keep rising out of proportion with our paycheck.  Be sure to watch this spot if you are in the same boat of not much $$ to spend.  I plan to give away some charts and/or kits throughout the year -- ones that I know I won't get around to stitching.

Ornaments, my 2012 Challenge, and Updates!

Hello again!  Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?  Or a nice Harrogate show if you're from the UK??  We had a busy weekend with Thanksgiving, then Christmas with part of the family, and then a few days of "clean and repaint the bathroom before company comes".  I can't *wait* to take a shower again! : )

On the stitching front... first some ornaments for our Friendly Stitcher Ornament Exchange...

2012 Tricia's Personal Challenge!

1. My main goal is to finish Cabin Fever by the beginning of December 2012.  I have about 100 stitches done.

2. I need to finish the starred "in progress" designs before starting anything new.
3. I will work on Heart and Soul as my UFO project on Thursdays for Friendly Stitchers.  It is my oldest project except for Cabin Fever and I know I won't finish it if I don't make myself.  When it is finished I will work on Quilted Garden for UFO Thursdays.
4.  When I have three finishes I can kit up the next two that are missing threads and fabric.

Time Flies!!

Hello everyone!  Have you been busy too??  I've been stitching a little and doing some Christmas shopping and making a Holiday Planner and going off sugar (I feel so much better - but can you imagine  Thanksgiving and Christmas without sugar?  EEK!  What will I get in my stocking?  Socks??)  Here are some pictures of what I've been up to...

That's it for me right now!  I'm sending off an exchange today.  Can't wait to receive mine back again!  With paying for dd to stay in college, we're cutting back on Christmas presents for each other this year.  I think we'll just do stockings - so getting these few stitchy things here and there from my blog friends and exchanges is going to be my Christmas!! : )
